13 February 2021 It has occurred to me that some of you may want to keep a permanent or printed version of these pages. I have therefore prepared a .pdf document containing all but the Stories and Documents section. I have also made a copy of the entire web site and stored it as a downloadable ZIP file. You can find both under the Stories and Documents tab. Just click on the image at the bottom of the page.
27 November 2018 A "stray" family found in the US Census of 1900 by searching for "Bolfr*". See Tab STRAYS. Can anyone elucidate?
22 November 2018 The Modern Family Trees Page now reinstated as All Family Trees and includes the most up to date version of the 18C and 19C Tree as Page 1
24 May 2018. The Modern Family Trees page is being re designed and is currently disabled

1 Earlier this year I was contacted by a branch of the Balfrys now living in the Carolinas, U.S.A. They are descended from John Paul Joseph Balfrey (or Balfré) and Marie Gayer of Illinois. JPJB was a son of Edmund Balfry and Mary Ann Ryan of Caherconlish, Limerick. The data they have provided requires an updating of Page 7 of the Modern Family Trees, which I have yet to do.
2 More recently I was emailed by Christopher Britton with the information that he was descended from Cecil Juan Morday and Alice Maud Sutton issue of Juan Morday Balfry. The information that he has provided has led to updating Page 9 (Cecil had 10 children, not 11!) and the addition of an extension Page 16. Chris has also provided an account of the life and character of Cecil which makes fascinating reading about a very complex character. This I have added to the Stories and Documents Section.
